About Adeva
Adeva was one of the great British soul and house singers of the late 80s and early 90s. Born Patricia Daniels in New Jersey, she moved to the UK and became a key figure in the late 80s dance scene.
Her biggest hit was 'Respect' in 1989 — not the Aretha Franklin song, but a dance track that became an anthem in the clubs. She followed it with 'Warning!' and 'Don't Let It Show on Your Face'.
She released two albums — 'Adeva!' (1989) and 'New Direction' (1991) — before stepping back from the spotlight.
