Alkaline Trio

The trio came up with the “Alkaline” part of their name while flipping through the dictionary, after agreeing that “it sounded cool.” ∙ Guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba’s parents are both Vietnam War veterans who met while in the service.

∙ The first Alkaline Trio album, Goddamnit!, was recorded in nine days for $900.

∙ Alkaline Trio’s influences include Social Distortion, Ramones, Green Day, The Clash, Buzzcocks, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Ministry, NOFX, and The Cure.
