Bill Nelson

As the guiding light of Bebop Deluxe, the Yorkshire-born Nelson was a guitar hero who combined the passionate excess of Jimi Hendrix with a cold, calculated intellectualism.

As a prolific solo artist, he sometimes forsakes the guitar entirely in favor of keyboards and splicing tape, crafting a body of work that ranges from thumping funk (of a cerebral sort) to synth pop and ambient murmurs.
