Jane'S Addiction

Named after a housemate of frontman Perry Farrell, Jane’s Addiction was one of the first alternative rock bands to break into the mainstream in the late ’80s.

∙ Their most successful LPs—1988’s Nothing’s Shocking and 1990’s Ritual de lo Habitual—are ranked among Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

∙ Farrell, who coined the term “Alternative Nation,” cocreated the iconic Lollapalooza festival, with the inaugural 1991 event intended as the band’s farewell tour.
