Sarah Brightman

Over a career spanning more than four decades, soprano singer and actress Sarah Brightman has conquered the world of musical theater and recorded albums in various genres, including classical, opera, dance, and pop.

• Brightman started taking dance and piano lessons at age three and made her theater debut at 13 in the musical I and Albert.

• In 1978, while a member of the dance troupe Hot Gossip, Brightman scored a Top 10 UK hit with the space-disco jam “I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper.” • She joined the cast of Cats in 1981 and from there nabbed roles in The Pirates of Penzance and Nightingale.
