German techno outfit U96 produce ecstatic rave and Eurodance anthems as well as more exploratory material drawing from ambient, trance, and electro.

The group's debut single, a dance remake of Klaus Doldinger's theme to the classic 1981 war film Das Boot, topped the German charts for 13 weeks in 1992.

The full-length Das Boot arrived the same year, and the group remained a fixture on the European charts throughout the decade, as they released faster, more vocal-heavy material on subsequent albums like Club Bizarre (1995) and Heaven (1996).
