About Vaccines
Exploding out of London’s indie scene in the early 2010s, UK outfit The Vaccines have many raucous, hook-filled rock songs under their belt.
\r ∙ Formed in 2009, the band quickly became the talk of London, earning Radio 1 airplay and a live slot on the late-night TV show Later with Jools Holland before they’d even released a single.\r ∙ The Vaccines’ first two videos—for “Wreckin’ Bar (Ra Ra Ra)” and “Blow It Up”—were directed by Doug Hart, founding bassist of The Jesus and Mary Chain.\r ∙ In 2011, they released their Platinum-selling debut album, What Did You Expect from The Vaccines?, and earned a BRIT nomination for the Critics’ Choice Award.\r ∙ Four of the band’s albums have reached the Top 5 on the UK charts, and 2012’s Come of Age debuted at No.
1.\r ∙ Looking to expand their sound, they recorded their third album, 2015’s English Graffiti, with celebrated producer Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, MGMT, Tame Impala).\r ∙ The group teamed up with pop diva Kylie Minogue on “LAZY,” a song for the soundtrack of the 2019 animated film A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon.
